The Oracle Trio

About the Oracle Trio

Founded in 2005, The Oracle Trio, with violinist April Johnson, cellist Peter Seidenberg, and pianist Kate Boyd, has performed throughout the U.S., interpreting celebrated classics as well as demonstrating a commitment to performing music of our time. The trio enjoys collaborating with composers, and has commissioned and premiered several new works.

The Oracle Trio has been a featured ensemble at the Heidelberg New Music Festival, the Ohio and Indiana Music Teachers’ Association state conferences, and on concert series at numerous universities and music schools. The trio has performed works by a number of living composers, including Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Samuel Adler, Marc Mellits, Douglas McConnell, and Daniel Koontz.

With a strong belief in the importance of bringing music to young people, the three versatile members of The Oracle Trio are committed to teaching, both individually and as a group. Oracle has given numerous performances, masterclasses, and workshops in children's hospitals and educational institutions.

All three members of the group have performed worldwide and have made a number of commercial recordings on a variety of labels, including the Lyrichord, Dorian, and Ravello labels. April Johnson, violinist, and Peter Seidenberg, cellist, currently teach on the faculty of Hoff-Barthelson Music School in New York. Kate Boyd serves on the faculty of Butler University in Indianapolis.
